In July 2026, Batumi Oil Terminal (BOT), KazTransOil JSC's asset in Georgia, resumed jet fuel transshipment after an eight-year hiatus, becoming a key logistics hub for the transportation of aviation fuel from Europe to Kazakhstan via the Trans-Caspian International Transport Route (Middle Corridor).

The terminal has commenced handling JET A-1 aviation fuel produced by European refineries, thereby expanding the range of cargoes it handles. The first shipment, comprising 10 thousand tonnes of JET A-1, was delivered to Batumi Oil Terminal by sea across the Black Sea. The cargo is currently stored at the terminal pending the arrival of rail tank cars for onward transportation to the Republic of Kazakhstan.

JET A-1 is the primary fuel grade used in civil aviation worldwide, ensuring the safe and reliable operation of aircraft and the uninterrupted performance of air transport services. A stable supply of aviation fuel is of strategic importance for Kazakhstan's transport sector, supporting mobility, strengthening energy security and ensuring the sustainable operation of the country's aviation industry.

The resumption of JET A-1 transshipment expands the logistics capabilities of Batumi Oil Terminal, promotes freight transportation along the Middle Corridor, enhances the resilience of international supply chains and strengthens the transit potential of the KazTransOil Group.

Batumi Oil Terminal is a specialised oil terminal that, in addition to jet fuel, handles crude oil, fuel oil, diesel fuel, motor gasoline, various grades of kerosene, liquefied petroleum gases (LPG) and other liquid bulk petroleum cargoes.

In the first half of 2026, Batumi Oil Terminal handled approximately 725 thousand tonnes of oil and petroleum products.
